Tony should eventully become a co-writer of textbooks, or manuals of hip products that allow for less-than-dry-but-still-the skinny- directions.
Isn't it time to shake up the technical writing vocation? I took the class, as an English major, thinking, "it's at least a JOB". But I HATED IT.
First of all, I hate telling people how to do something...for all I know, they know a better way. Second of all, if there's one thing I'm not, it's accurate. I do most things the wrong way. I'm like water going down a drain. I know my goal, but I circle and circle before I get there. Technical writing....a necessary art, but not for me.
I remember sitting in the foyer to Bartlett at UMass, and overhearing a familiar voice tutoring a student on his recent technical writing assignment. I looked and sure enough--Pernice. Perhaps writing manuals for Tandy products might have been a more steady income, but I think JP took the correct turn at the fork.
