In like 35 days, pitchers and catchers report for Spring Training!

My sister Alyssa informs me that not only have I heard of the Rising Storm, but she owns the record and played it for me back in the day when she was hanging out with among others, young Russ Brooks in Andover (late 80s?).
OK, I guess I'm turning into Marianne Faithfull "Ah yes, I remember the day. Spring 1979, and my sister Melissa just bought a CD by a Haverhill ska band that attended Brooks Prep School, called The Snowy Tornados. Charming, yes. I think I shall always remember...."
So, NRBQ fans: this Sunday at 8am, on A+E, there's a 2 hour documentary about NRBQ. If anyone thinks of it, tape it. I'd like to see it.

That CD of "unknowns" has spawned a few other faves for me: Cleaners from Venus (Martin Newell's band from the 80's--a pal of Andy Partridge), The Savage Rose (they're Danish! Early 70s? Great female lead vocals and fab drummer!) and Penelope Houston (former young punk singer of the Avengers, now a San Fran folk pop singer).
Plus, I need to hear this band The Misunderstood. They're not on the CD, but their story is crazy.
