I put up some posters around Mt. Holyoke on my lunch break. I made some wicked quick, semi-generic posters, with the robots from the shirt art, and a description of us. I likened our sound to They Might Be Giants (sorry, Tony), XTC (like anyone in college today knows them.. but I felt obliged), and Barenaked Ladies (*shudder*. But I figure that's a band that everyone knows and has similar things going on). Feel free to give me other bands to use as reference points for future posters.
Walking around the chilly Mt. Holyoke campus made me feel like it was the first day of college again. I didn't know where anything was, there were no familiar faces, and I kept thinking my fly was down. On top of that, the main campus center, where I've eaten lunch in the summertime, is closed for construction. So I was at a loss as to where one would put up posters. I found the place where students pick up their mail, and put posters up in random big buildings (they could be the dorm's maids' quarters, for all I know). When I was down to a few left I asked a student where kids (er, women) buy their lunches. She pointed me in the right direction and asked what band. I told her School For The Dead, opened up the poster and it was half-covered in streaks of blood. How effective! I guess my finger had split from the cold. Icky.
