Hey, folks.
I'm reporting from North Adams, MA where it snows a little every single day and the wind chill in the morning is way below zero. At the moment, I'm in the middle of a 2 hour break, during this 12 hour day of rehearsal. One dress rehearsal tonight, one run through tomorrow, and the two shows, tomorrow and Saturday night.
Lemme just say this; anyone who sees this will dig it a lot. If you are a fan of a) animation b) Mark Mulcahy's music c) Ken Maiuri's genius or d) my drumming and glokenspiel playing, you absolutely must go.
This is part of the "works in progress" series. A finished product would take 5 weeks to get perfect.
And there may be a celebrity doing a bit part. Dunno yet.
We are staying in cozy apartments. The other two guys in the band (guitar and bass) are Chris Harford, former Elektra recording artist and bandmate of Matthew Sweet and Dave Dreiwitz, who has played bass, on record and on tour, with Ween, Joan Osborne and others. If you saw Ween at Pearl St last time, when they did a Sunday evening show, he was playing bass. All great guys, and they feel Ken and I are among the best guys they've played with. So, Henning, stop telling us how much we suck.
Today I am wearing my School for the Dead t-shirt at rehearsal.
Alright, time for other things.
See you all soon.
Ning, did you watch the Monterey Pop super DVD? Comments?
PS-everyone, come to this show.
