Oh, no Henning, that's not gushing too much. You big gusher, you. I had a similar experience when I saw Spanish For Hitchhiking play. At first, I was somewhat distracted by the TV they put onstage and then by guest vocalist Flora Reed but once they settled into the last 1/3 of the set just as a trio and I shifted to wathcing them from the side (where I couldn't notice the TV), and the club was nearly empty by this point, it was truly magical. And it's hard to describe Dennis' appeal. I have a friend who I've played his songs for who doesn't like them and points out specific reasons why he's not into the songs and strangely enough, I agree with all of his points. But then I go pop the disc on and I still love it, still like the songs in spite of my intellectual side. The scary thing is how young DC is, too. He'll only get better. Think of the songs we were writing at age 23. Dear lord, Dennis Crommet will kill us all.
