Tony: Tony's Two Cents:
What does School For The Dead mean to me?
So far it's been a band full of friends led by an old bandmate and wickedly decent songwriter Henning that hasn't taken up very much of my time. Partly because I'm the most expendable member but that's a good thing, me being all busy with nascent fatha-hood. Nonetheless, it seems things should pick up for the project this summer. Indeed, they were, until Henning's computer clammed up and we missed a deadline for inclusion on a compilation album. But Brian's head is buzzing with marketing ideas (hey, marketing is what I do for a day job so I'm happy to leave that to someone else here) and Henning keeps popping out pop songs so I promise things will pick up, dear readers.
Mostly I'm excited about getting Henning's latest delicious crop of songs recorded, especially in the tasty band arrangements we've cooked up so far. Yummy ear candy like The Bagel Song and Candycane. Did we mention Ken likes French Fries? He's also a big fan of ganache, as I recall from a dinner date. Everyday it's an Everything bagel for Henning, who's one of the fussiest eaters I know. I'm completely unfamiliar with Max's diet- the one time he and I were in a cafe together with a group of people, we were the two folks who didn't order anything. And Brian, like myself, was raised on the typical middle-class meat-and-potato deal but have come to appreciate the tasty diversity of Northampton and now enjoy opportunities to dine on delights like sushi and Indian food. That's what School For The Dead means to me.
